"Brook Trout" This beautiful painting is of a breeding male Brook Trout, just about to take a fly fisherman's bait. Brook Trouts are some of the most beautiful fish around. They are a member of the Salmon family and although they are called "trout" they are actually a Char. I caught my first Brookie when I was 4 years old. It was very early, around 5:00 a.m. and I was half frozen waiting for him to take my bait. My father began taking me fishing as soon as I could walk. I love those memories. This painting is bright, bold and very beautiful. It brings back a lot of wonderful memories for me. I hope it does the same for you.
