Description
My name is Jackie Carpenter and I am an artist who is also a survivor of multiple rapes and abuse. I woke up one night with this painting in my head. I painted it in just one day as it was very clear to me what it should look like. If you are here because you too are a survivor I am sorry and I am also proud of you for surviving. Please take a look at this piece of art and if you can help the cause by purchasing a print, card, phone case or in anyway at all I would appreciate it. If not no worries, just please share this link with those you feel would benefit from it. xx jackie
I Donate 100% of the profits from the sale of prints and cards to Child Help Foundation, a national child abuse organization. "Don"t See Me, depicts the abuse that so many experience, myself included at some point in their life. There are many different types of abuse, some physical, some emotional, some mental, some sexual, they all take what should never be taken. The abusers less than human, are often people we love or who were supposed to love us. The victims all too real, are forced to live with scars that cut deep and last a lifetime. "Don't See Me" is a painting that tries to express the pain and fear, felt by all victims young or old, in hopes that some healing may take place. When you buy a print of this emotional painting you are helping those who are most often touched by this kind of abuse and violence.
Other sizes are available just contact me.

A chilling commentary on child abuse...very effective. I am a survivor of emotional-psychological abuse as a child and was raped as a young adult by an art teacher. I very humbly commend you on surviving in the first place and converting that trauma into powerful art that can raise awareness. Yours is a story that needs to be told. Thank you for participating the the Childhood Dreams Contest. L/F
Jackie Carpenter replied:
Thank you Denise I am truly sorry you are a survivor as well. It is not an easy road we walk, but I am very grateful you survived and continue to thrive. Thank you for the comments, I very much appreciate them. j

I feel so sad with the situation of this work, yet love the angel. Very emotional.

Very, very powerful! Seems almost 'personal' - I'm left feeling like I invaded your space.
Jackie Carpenter replied:
I'm glad this piece touched you so much. No need to feel like an invader, that just means the emotion I felt painting it came through. Thanks so much for your feedback. j

Jackie Congratulations on "Don't See Me"! You have been featured on "Everything In Moderation, Including Moderation's" front page! A deeply moving and brave painting that reaches out to all survivors!
Jackie Carpenter replied:
Thank you Sydne, I really appreciate this, how exciting. This painting has been my number one viewed and sold. That is both good, and sad to me. I'm glad it is touching and people are buying it to help heal, and to also raise money for the Childrens Fund, but also sad that so many have a need to do a search for such a painting. Again, thank you Jackie

OMG, this is me, this is little blue. I am a artist also, I was abused by my father, your work speaks volumes to me. My mission is the children being sex trafficked, I would like to use some of your pieces in my next book, I need something to speak to little girls, in the back room, something...I need help, look, I am willing to die for every little girl, and boy being raped in the back room, I need a piece to speak to them, to you know something? Blue!
